Due to the growing popularity of premium European formulas, the demand for Kendamil is soaring! Kendamil has expanded its formula options, and production now takes place across mainland Europe as well as the United Kingdom. Today, we will take a look at the different Kendamil formulas, including the UK, EU, and US versions, to unveil what they have in common and also highlight their differences to help you decide the right fit for your little one!
Discovering Different Kendamil Versions: UK, EU, and US
Labelling requirements vary from country to country, so you may notice packaging differences among the various Kendamil products available. While the Organic, Classic, and Goat recipes for Kendamil are shared by all versions, there can be minor differences in the names of products and also the number of stages. First up, let’s dive into Kendamil’s organic formulas.
Kendamil Organic
Kendamil Organic and Bio Nature are the brand’s only certified EU organic recipes. The recipes begin with creamy whole and skimmed cow’s milk. Other signature ingredients include prebiotics (GOS), HMOs, MFGM, lactose-only carbohydrates, and DHA sourced from algae. All Kendamil baby formula, including their organic options, does not contain palm or fish oil.
Both Kendamil Organic UK and Kendamil Bio Nature EU share the same basic formula recipe, aside from the following differences:
Kendamil Organic formula is produced in the UK with local milk from small-scale British farms. Since it specifically caters to the UK market, all labels are in English, and metric measurements (grams) are used for preparation instructions. There are three stages, from newborn to toddler, to provide babies with age-appropriate organic nutrition.
Kendamil Bio Nature is produced in Europe with European milk and caters to Eastern European countries. The labelling is in English on the front of the can, whereas the back is labelled in country-specific languages, i.e., Czech for Czechia and Hungarian for Hungary. Just like Kendamil UK, Kendamil EU preparation measurements are metric. Kendamil Bio Nature comes in the same three stages.
Kendamil Organic has an American version for parents in the US. Kendamil US shares the same recipe as Kendamil UK and Bio Nature. The organic milk comes from Europe or the UK, and although it is produced in Europe, it also falls under FDA regulations. All labeling is in English, and preparation instructions are in imperial ounces, not grams. The American version of Kendamil Organic Stage 1 is designed for 0-12 months.
Kendamil Classic
The Kendamil Classic formula recipe is very similar to Kendamil Organic, with the main difference being that the ingredients are not of organic origin, though it remains non-GMO. Beyond that, the only compositional difference is that it adds FOS prebiotics alongside GOS.
Kendamil Classic UK and Kendamil Premium EU share the same recipe, and here we will look at the differences:
Kendamil Classic is made in Europe using milk from European farms, and it caters to the United Kingdom market. Labels are in English, preparation instructions are in grams, and there are 3 stages.
Kendamil Premium is produced in Europe with European milk and caters to Eastern European countries. English can be found on the front of the can, and the back is in other European languages. Kendamil Premium has four stages, but note that Stages 3 and 4 have slightly different age ranges. Stage 3 of the UK version is for 12-36 months, but the EU version is for 12-24 months, and Stage 4 is for 24+ months.
Kendamil Classic also comes in a US version, which shares the same recipe as Kendamil Classic and Premium. It’s produced in Europe using milk from Europe or the UK and follows European and FDA guidelines. Labelling is in English and uses ounces instead of grams. There are two stages, Kendamil Classic Stage 1 for 0-12 months and a toddler milk for 12+ months.
Kendamil Goat
Kendamil Goat milk formula is made from full-cream whole goat milk, with no skimmed milk included at all. Like all Kendamil formulas, Kendamil Goat’s extra gentle recipe includes MFGM, HMOs, GOS, and DHA from algae. Carbohydrates for energy are lactose-only, and of course, it is palm oil-free! Like Kendamil Classic, Kendamil Goat formulas are not organic, but they are non-GMO.
The recipe for Kendamil Goat EU (Czech) and Kendamil Goat UK is the same, but we will look at the other differences:
Kendamil Goat UK uses European goat’s milk and is made in Europe for the United Kingdom market. This UK version features English labelling and feeding instructions in grams. There are three stages to support your little one from birth and into their toddler years.
Kendamil Goat Czech (EU) is produced in Europe with European milk for the Eastern European market. The label is English on the front of the container, and several Eastern European languages are on the back. Preparation measurements are in grams. Organic’s Best carries Kendamil Goat Stage 1 Czech, suitable for babies 0-6 months.
The American version of Kendamil Goat formula shares the same recipe as Kendamil UK and EU and uses milk from Europe. While made in Europe, it also follows FDA guidelines; thus, the labelling is in English, and the preparation instructions are in US-friendly ounces. Two stages are available, Kendamil Goat formula Stage 1 for 0-12 months, and a toddler milk for little ones 12+ months.
Kendamil Ready to Feed
Kendamil ready-to-feed formula is the same recipe as the powder formula version, but comes in convenient liquid ready-to-feed bottles! Kendamil liquid formula comes in two stages, Kendamil ready-to-feed Stage 1 for babies 0-6 months and Stage 2 for 6+ months.
The UK and Czech recipes for ready-to-feed formulas are all the same, with identical packaging that features labelling in English and preparation instructions in grams. America does not have a ready-to-feed version of this formula.
