Jennifer Aniston is a lady with a long list of achievements. Of course, she’s the scene-stealing “Friends” actress who went on to appear in a slew of films (while raking in awards galore). She’s a dog parent, a producer, and a philanthropist. She’s a social media newbie who’s become an expert: in less than a year, she’s amassed a whopping 37.9 million Instagram followers (so far). Yes, she’s the breathtakingly attractive 52-year-old who seems to be fighting the ravages of time.
Regardless of all of this, Aniston’s hair will be associated with greatness for the rest of her life. Aniston’s hair has always been flawless, whether it was ultra long and blond in the 2000s or effortlessly wavy and impeccably highlighted, as seen on the current season of “The Morning Show.” Beyond “The Rachel” do, which inspired 11 million women to copy the layered cut in the 1990s, Aniston’s hair has always been flawless, whether it was ultra long and blond in the 2000s or effortlessly wavy and impeccably highlighted, as seen on the
The point is that Aniston is a global hair icon. With that kind of street cred, it’s no surprise that the actress shifted gears and began working on a side project, particularly as the founder and developer of LolaVie, her new hair brand. What was the first product released by a direct-to-consumer brand? The Glossing Detangler is a $25 multitasker that not only detangles hair but also repairs current damage and protects against potential damage while smoothing and adding shine.
Like Aniston, I like anything that addresses several issues for me at once, making my daily beauty regimen easier – and faster! So, I gave LolaVie a go, and here’s what I thought:
Aniston announced her new business on Instagram earlier this month, writing, “This idea has been in the works for a long time and I’m so thrilled to finally be able to present it to you.” “Our amazing team put a lot of effort into creating this line, and we’re very happy to say it’s free of all the bad things… we’re paraben-free, silicone-free, sulfate-free, phthalates-free, gluten-free, vegan… and, of course, CRUELTY-FREE, because we love our animals.” (Fun fact: Lola is how Aniston’s friends refer to her!)
And if the brand’s initial release seems like a hero product to you, that’s because that’s precisely what Aniston wanted. She told Forbes, “I wanted to discover the thing that was a multi.” “It was finding out how to achieve an all-in-one – a heat protection, vitamins and minerals, gloss, and general bounciness and fullness,” says the designer.
My first impressions of the Glossing Detangler are as follows: The package has a… A-list. The Glossing Detangler’s rectangular-shaped bottle is black and white, with a stylish, small-print type, and the outcome is something that’s basic yet totally classy at the same time, and it’s modeled by Aniston’s own style.
My second instant thought? The product’s aroma is similar to that of a spa. I could smell all of the detangler’s natural components, including lemon, chia seeds, bamboo, a super fruit complex, and vegetable ceramides, even before I sprayed it for the first time. It smells like something you’d get in a high-end salon, which, along with the sleek design, makes it seem instantly luxury — and like something Aniston would have in her own beauty arsenal.
After that, it was time to put the detangler to the test. I used it as directed by LolaVie, spraying it on towel-dried hair and combing it thoroughly. My hair isn’t very thick, but it is long, which may make brushing a hassle. I was able to comb through all of my hair in a few seconds after spraying on the detangler, and then I went about my regular process, blowing out with the Revlon One-Step Volumizer and Hair Dryer.
The end result was hair that was much shinier and more bouncy than usual, as well as smelling fantastic. And knowing that I had a heat protectant on my hair (the Revlon One-Step gets hot and may be harsh on your hair) gave me a lot of confidence throughout the blow-dry.
My girls, on the other hand, were the true test. I have a nine-year-old and a four-year-old with extremely frizzy, coarse hair. Trying to comb through their hair after baths and showers at night is a hated job for all three of us, and it often results in tears. While I was eager to test LolaVie on myself because of its claims of shine, smoothness, and protection, I also wanted to see how detangling the spray is through my children.

The 4-year-old was up first, with shoulder-length hair that resembled a tangled rat’s nest at the end of the day. We met in the bathroom with mutual trepidation after giving her a bath and cleaning her hair. “This yummy-smelling spray was developed by a renowned actress to help knots go away and brushing easy peasy,” I informed her. She looked at me suspiciously in the mirror. I went ahead and sprayed her hair from roots to ends, and her hair was tangle-free and fully combed through in less than 30 seconds. This is a five-minute or longer procedure that is accompanied by the aforementioned crying/screaming/fleeing. My oldest daughter, whose long curls reach the middle of her back, had a similar experience: her hair was combed and tangle-free in under a minute, and she never once stopped talking to scream, “Mom, this is the worst!” “Why do we have to do this?” or “Why do we have to do this?” Seriously, the spray is that amazing; it rapidly detangles even the most knotted, matted, and tangled hair.
While kids aren’t Aniston’s target market, they do have the worst tangles, so if LolaVie’s Glossing Detangler can manage my daughter’s wild hair, you can bet it can handle anything you’ve got going on as well.
Aniston hasn’t said what’s next for LolaVie, but given the brand’s initial drop’s quality and effectiveness, she can count on me to be first in line for the next product.
